Are you looking for a reason to travel? A way to boost your resume and get international working experience duringyour time abroad? Hear what our Roadie Isabela has to say about her Marketing and Consulting Internship!
Isabela is originally from Belo Horizante, Brazil and participated in a Marketing and Consulting Internship through Road2Argentina for 7 weeks!
Where do you intern in Buenos Aires: I interned at a company that Implements ERP software to other business and companies around Argentina and Latin America.
Describe a typical day in your internship: A typical day at work began by getting together with my team to discuss the website. I would also work on the power point presentation that the company shows to their clients. I translated both, the website and the presentation, to English and Portuguese. I was also able to work with one of our clients who was from Brazil which was really cool!
What makes Buenos Aires a special place to intern: BA is such a beautiful city! There is always something to do and places to go and explore.
The most interesting thing you have done at your Marketing and Consulting internship: The most interesting thing I did as an intern was be able to help develop the website. I never realized how much work had to be put into the website and that every word and every click need to be thought about.
The greatest challenge you face as an intern: The greatest challenge I faced as an intern was being confident about the work that I was doing because it’s in another language.
The most valuable thing you’ve learned in Buenos Aires: I love living in different countries because you get to know more about the people and understand why a certain culture behaves one way. The best part about it all is that I take this experience home with me!
Your biggest accomplishment since arriving: Being able to speak more fluently and differentiating words from Spanish and Portuguese
One fun fact about Buenos Aires: the city never stops, you can always have fun- any day!!!
Your favorite memory of your time in BA: going to restaurants that have local cuisine and local bands.
Advice to future Roadies: In the beginning is hard to be open to things and people, just start enjoying the experience from day one. Meet as many places and people that you can. Be open to everything!
Why choose Road2Argentina: Road gave me confidence to feel comfortable and safe in a place that I didn’t know anything.
