Volunteer in Patagonia

The Road2Argentina volunteering program in Patagonia takes place in the town of Junin de los Andes (a three hour bus ride from the city of Bariloche). At this placement, volunteers work and live at a rural school for children who would otherwise not have an opportunity to attend school. The mission of this organization is to assist in the integral development of local rural communities. They are able to achieve these goals through two means: education and rural development.

Volunteer in Patagonia duties include:

  • School Support
  • Kitchen Help
  • Secretarial Work
  • Classroom Assistant
  • Building Maintenance Work (painting, sanding, etc.)
  • Cleaning
  • Grounds Keeping
  • Fundraising
  • Farm Work (feeding animals, watering, harvesting, ditch digging)

Volunteers can choose any combination of the above volunteer activities during their program in Patagonia.

Volunteering in Patagonia can be combined with a program in Buenos Aires. For example a one-month Spanish program in Buenos Aires followed by volunteering in Patagonia or a one-month volunteering program in Buenos Aires followed by volunteering in Patagonia. Transportation to the volunteer placement by bus (from Buenos Aires to Junin de los Andes) is included in the program.

Volunteering in Patagonia is available from November - April.
